10 Ways We Are Making Our Offices More Sustainable

Turner Groundscare is committed to making small changes to improve sustainability for this World Environmental Day, by doing the following-

1. Going Digital

The average office worker uses over 12,000 sheets of paper each year, and 45% of this paper gets tossed in the bin at the end of the day.

We are taking steps to reduce our paper usage; this is not only good for the environment, but also for business operating efficiency. From paperless billing to digital filing systems, we are committed to replaying paper with digital processes.

2. Purchasing Greener Office Supplies

We are committed to high-quality products with a long service life to help limit waste and ultimately, save money including refillable pens to reusable notebooks.

3. Adding a recycling program

Our office recycling program is reducing the amount of waste that is sent to local landfills.

We have arranged recycling bins in prominent locations around the office, including near desks, and printers, as well as in break rooms.

4. Boosting natural light and using LED lighting

We have arranged our desks to optimise natural light and switched to LED lighting. Not only do LED lights require less energy, but the bulbs last up to six times longer than alternative lighting options.

.6. Practicing sustainable printing habits

Despite the push to become more digital, we will always need and use printers but whenever possible we do the following-

  • Using refillable ink cartridges
  • Print double-sided whenever possible
  • Only print pages we need
  • Reduce font size to consolidate pages
  • Print in black and white

We are creating eco-friendly printing habits as an easy way to conserve energy and reduce waste.

7. Turning electrics off at night

We are focusing on turning off electronics and lighting end of each workday. your office Designating team members to inspect the office at the end of the day to ensure we are not using unnecessary energy.

8. Encouraging eco-friendly commuting

Transportation accounts for 27% of all emissions. Carsharing walking, biking, or taking public transportation to work are some ways to reduce commuting emissions. We have encouraged our team to Carshare whenever possible.

9. Introduced office plants

Plants help bring life to an office environment, they also work to improve air quality within the office space by releasing oxygen and absorbing airborne pollutants.

10. Buying Greener cleaning products

We found that virtually all standard cleaning products have a green version available for purchase, which we have begun to implement where we can.

Environmentally friendly cleaning products prevent the release of harmful chemicals into the environment and help eliminate exposure to these chemicals.
