Turner Groundscare joined The Wolf Pack at Westonbirt Arboretum for the 2024 Arb Show earlier this week. 

The main draw for us at the ARB Show was our friends at Timberwolf’s stand – and for good reason. Not only do they remain one of the biggest names in the sector, they also had 2 NEW developments to showcase.

The first was the Rayco stump grinder dealership, with the woodchipper manufacturer now selling the American-made brand across Europe.

The TW 280FTR Hybrid was the real star of the show. It is an eight-inch tracked chipper, building on the foundations of the TW 280HB HYBRID.

 

“With hybrid, it has been quite an interesting journey for us,” said product manager Karl Howlett. (pictured above)

“ it offers that continuation of simplicity. It gives the performance of high level power, but it cannibalises areas where there’s a low duty cycle on the product. Put your wood in and it will do what it needs to do.

“For those seeking a greener product, it also ticks that box. It gives the normal arborist fuel reduction but outstanding performance. So it’s very exciting to have the TW 280FTR Hybrid on the stand.”

Key features of the new model include a self-charging system when operating, no diesel particulate filter (DPF), WolfTrack dual-speed tracking system (low speed: 2.5 kph, high speed: 5 kph), an integrated track recovery system, Bluetooth connectivity and a three-year warranty as standard.

(1) From September 1, 2017, certain new vehicles will be type-approved in accordance with the globally harmonized test procedure for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (World Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure, WLTP), a new, more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From September 1, 2018, the WLTP will replace the new European driving cycle (NEDC), the current test procedure. Due to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emission values measured according to the WLTP are in many cases higher than those measured according to the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes in vehicle taxation from September 1, 2018. The information given here relates to the type approval of the selected model in accordance with the World Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure, WLTP.

(2) The specified consumption and emission values were determined according to the legally prescribed measuring procedure. Since September 1, 2017, certain new vehicles have been type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From September 1, 2018, the WLTP will gradually replace the new European driving cycle (NEDC). Due to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emission values measured according to the WLTP are in many cases higher than those measured according to the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes in vehicle taxation from September 1, 2018. As far as new cars are concerned that are type-approved according to WLTP, the NEDC values are derived from the WLTP values. They are used solely for purposes of comparison between the various vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tire format, etc.) can include relevant vehicle parameters such as B. Weight, Rolling resistance and aerodynamics change and, in addition to weather and traffic conditions and individual driving behavior, influence fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and the performance figures of a vehicle.
